ABOUT COTTONTAIL
Cottontail Swim and Racquet Club is a member-owned full service pool and tennis facility serving communities in and around West Springfield and Burke. The club sits on 3 acres in a secluded location bounded by Fairfax County parkland and homes in the Orange Hunt Estates subdivision. The Sangster, Orange Hunt, Cherry Run, and Hunt Valley school districts are well represented in our membership.
MAKE 2011 A GREAT SUMMER AT COTTONTAIL
Cottontail promises to provide many excellent features for the summer of 2011, including:
- six lane, 25 meter pool with a dedicated lap lane
- low diving boards
- wading pool
- heated jacuzzi
- two water slides
- picnic pavilions & gas grills
- lighted tennis courts
- upgrades to the guard house and shower facilities
- landscaping to expand and level the lawn area near the pool
SWIMMING
Cottontail features a wide variety of swimming activities for members of all ages. Our facilities include 6-lane, 25 meter pool, a diving well with 2 meter boards, a shallow section for young swimmers, two water slides, a dedicated lap lane, a fenced wading pool for toddlers, and a fenced area for the jacuzzi.
Swim Team
Our Club's swim team offers a challenge for young swimmers from preschool through age 18, regardless of ability. Our team, the Cottontail Cobias, participates in the highly competitive Northern Virginia Swim League (NVSL) in Division 11. The swim team also competes in the Springfield-Burke Developmental League for less experienced swimmers. For more information on the Cottontail Cobias swim team, click here.
Swim Lessons
Group or private lessons are available at reasonable rates for swimmers of all age groups and levels. Inquire at the clubhouse for more information.
Adult Swimming
A dedicated lap lane is always available for adult swimmers. Additionally, the pool is cleared and reserved for adult swimmers 10 minutes of each hour.
TENNIS
The Club offers three professionally maintained and lighted tennis courts with a practice board.
Tennis Team
The Club also offers a Junior Tennis Team for children ages 4-17. We provide developmental tennis lessons 4 times per week for 5 weeks. Additionally, our Junior Tennis Team may compete with other local clubs in the Northern Virginia region. For more information on the Junior Tennis Team, click here.
SOCIALS
A wide variety of social events is scheduled for adults and children throughout the summer. Activities include poolside theme parties, bingo, ladies nights and cookouts. Events for our younger members include chaperoned teen and pre-teen parties, ice cream socials and raft parties. Our covered pavilion and gas grills are available for members' use. A social calendar for 2011 is shown to the right.
